Mehdi Saeedi

I am a Postdoctoral Research Associate at University of Southern California (USC) working with Prof. Massoud Pedram. My research aims to bring principles and techniques from computer science and engineering to the design and implementation of efficient circuits and algorithms targeted on quantum computers. To this end, I conduct research that spans the areas of computer programming, data structure and algorithms, and optimization while maintaining a strong relevance to quantum computing. The goal of my research at USC is to investigate methods for resource estimation and toolbox design for a realistic quantum computer.

I received my PhD (Sep. 2005- Jan. 2010) from Amirkabir University of Technology, Tehran, Iran where I was a member of QDA lab. Focused on quantum and reversible logic, I proposed synthesis and optimization methods for Boolean reversible circuits and quantum logic for both arbitrary and restricted quantum architectures. My MSc thesis (Sep. 2003- Sep. 2005) was about VLSI physical design algorithms done at Amirkabir University of Technology where I proposed a congestion- and crosstalk-driven placement algorithm for ASIC design. I got my BSc (Sep. 1999- Sep. 2003) in Computer Engineering from Sharif University of Technology, Tehran, Iran in September 2003. In my BSc thesis I designed a six-legged robot.
